BACK TO REALITY IN SCHOOL ; Monday, December 28, 2009 01:11

in the blink of an eye, i'm back in singapore after spending 7d/5n in australia. and i not-perfect christmas outing with blazers at vivo city. the long weekend with everyone at home, the christmas mood, has come to an end BECAUSE SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW. what a spoiler. why can't tp follow primary and secondary school and start school after the new year on 2 jan.

the australia trip was fun. although i knew that before the trip, my mind wasn't set to go. back in singapore, it feels different. it's good to know while you're overseas that you can be almost worry-free.

the school term starts tomorrow. my last term before i graduate. and i'm contradicting myself because i feel too attached to blazers to leave it. even though i know that i'll come back after i leave the team, the feeling's not the same.

thoughts. too much of it. always.

-
network security report. 70% done. barely made it 4 pages, though i haven't edited it yet and they'll probably charge me with plagiarism. i will finish it in school before training.

mobile communication powerpoint presentation and report. TOTALLY HAVEN'T STARTED. probably doing tomorrow.

multimedia networks and services report. HAVEN'T STARTED ON THIS EITHER. i'm counting on thursday to be halfday and hence, i'll have another week to do it. otherwise, i'm dead.

back to school in a few hours. resigned. they..are not something that i look forward to seeing.

summary of australia trip ; Wednesday, December 23, 2009 13:42

i think that if i were to summarise my australia trip without pictures, it'd be very boring. however, my brother is using the desktop WITH THE PICTURES and i'm using his laptop now so i can't really upload anything. please wait. (:

apparently i went to training yesterday, three hours after landing in sg. i don't really know why either. and i tried bt. landing on my neck twice. it hurts, but it's no one's fault. it's just my poor technique. and i know it. i have no flair for tumbling.

-
day 1 - tangalooma wild dolphin resort (qld).

SOMEONE CAME TO THE AIRPORT TO SEE ME OFF! HAHAHA.

anyway, i took the night flight, so i reached brisbane international airport early in the morning. it's two hours faster there, and it makes a lot of difference. you'll find out later.

the highlights of the first day was the 4-wheel drive. it's a big vehicle when all 4 wheels are controlled. the guide took us to the desert and i mustered much courage to slide down from the top. it's not so scary when you do it, comparing to looking down from the top. and it's very tiring to climb all the way up.

good view for taking pictures there. i tried a toe touch but without any stretching, it looked horrible.

we went to feed wild dolphins at night. at wearing your swimming attire at that time isn't ideal because it's very cold even with a jacket on. can't get pictures of this though.

day 2 - dreamworld (gold coast).

we travelled up to the gold coast after that. the place is nice because the sea is beside the city. imagine going to orchard road and it's ngee ann city on one side, and the beach with the sea on the other.

we went to dreamworld, which is a theme park. the weather there is like singapore. the sun is hot so we had to apply sunblock, but the wind is very cooling so you hardly perspire. it's just hot in the open.

we tried this ride called the tower of terror. imagine a L. the car accelerates to 160 kph in a seven seconds and climbs to 38 stories high before dropping back down. apparently i tired to prepare myself but it was too fast to think. oh wells.

i ate my first western meal there and realised how expensive the food was. a pan pizza costs 8 aud, which is more than sgd $10.

day 3 - FARMS.

i can' remember the names. we went to catch crabs on a boat in the morning, and eat the crabs we caught after that, ate a live oyster and went fruit tasting after that. had a trip around the fruit farms. went to the superbee farm and tried different types of honey, see thousands of bees staring at you and you're just separated by a glass panel.

and finally to a place called q-deck. it's a 77-story observation tower. could see the whole view of gld there and took many nice shots!

day 4 - FREE DAY.

because we joined a tour, everything was planned for us. we were given a free day without events for on our own on sunday, and we decided to go on a shopping trip with some other families because it's quite costly to travel on our own.

went to factory outlets and picked up a few pieces of clothes from addidas because they were having a clearance sale and we had discounts above their original discounts also. however, the other things weren't very cheap. okayy, it's cheaper than singapore but it's still around aud $50 for a shirt.

there's this mall called rubica. according to our guide, it's opened by a singaporean. they're a food atrium there. literally, a whole floor with shops beside each other selling food. and apparently the longest queues went to mac. I DID NOT EAT THAT.

day 5 - warnerbros: movieworld (qld).

i preferred this to dreamworld because it's owned by warnerbros and could take pictures with the cartoon characters! unfortunately, i had no idea of their timings and missed all of the phototaking sessions.

there was this interesting performance by hollywood stunt drivers. i'm not a huge fan of cars, but they perform stunts with their cars less than 50m from you. really an eye-opener. I GOT PICTURES!

there's this coaster ride called the superman escape. i saw the ride, and my legs turned to jelly when i was queuing for it. they warned you about some amplitude thing and asked you to leave the queue if you're scared and i wanted to.

tried it anyway. i thought it wasn't as bad as the tot in dreamworld. there's another coaster called lethal weapon. it goes upside down. i was considering until my brother told me that your ears would hurt after that. then i decided to abort it.

finally, there was a parade of the cartoon characters! i got pictures though the characters kept looking on the opposite side of the road. oh wells. and i wanted to buy a shirt but was damn expensive.

and our last stop for the itenary, a REAL FACTORY OUTLET selling mostly food. i bought a kangaroo because the koalas weren't cute. HAHAHA.
-

i ommitted wednesday and tuesday because there's nothing much to say going there and coming back to singapore.

for people who haven't been to australia, the shops there close around 6pm australia time, which is 4pm in singapore. hence, i start waking up at 3am and sleeping at 8pm singapore time, which is weird.

HENCE, THERE IS MINIMAL NIGHT LIFE THERE. the beaches are nice, though the sea waves are too strong for swimming because it's mostly used to surfing. the downside is that their seas have sharks. it's a risk.

okayy. it's really a lot of words and hard to imagine. i'll probably use the desktop at night and upload all the pictures! hope blogger and facebook don't give me any problems.

it doesn't feel like i'm leaving singapore in less than a day.

i'm going to australia for a week only and i'm missing cheer already. decided not to bring my phone and dedicate the whole week to resting my injured body. not being able to do my ext today was bad enough already. but if i don't rest and recover, i won't be able to do anything.

i know this sounds naggy but please remember that the flyers safety is the number one priority. you can achieve a high level stunt because the flyers trust their bases. i don't wish to come back next thursday and see people injured.

i'm feeling resigned, knowing that i didn't agree to go for this trip willingly. i was just told to make myself free.

oh wells. spam my phone if you want. i'll come back and slowly read my texts. (:

it doesn't feel like i'm flying off to aussie tomorrow. i haven't switched myself into the holiday mood yet because..of too many things.

oh wells. i don't have a choice. not now.

should i bring my phone?

icu course ; Monday, December 14, 2009 15:23

i'm feeling deprived of the internet because the two laptops at home can't be used and my brother is doing something to the desktop. lucky i don't survive on playing games, otherwise i'd be dead by now.

done with icu workshop during the weekends. shall apply what's been taught and put the knowledge to good use in training.

never felt so dead and broken in a long time.

intermediate course was good revision on stunts. advanced was an eye-opener. couldn't try partner stunts on the second day because i was aching everywhere.

OH. we should bring more flyers next time. seriously. we look like gusto on saturday morning. they had 7 bases and 1 flyer. we weren't a lot better.

training in a few hours. thought of going ojump mats to try my tumbling but my body is aching everywhere.

somehow, it doesn't feel that i'm going australia this wednesday. there are too many things that i can't just put down. even though it's only for a week.

zz ; Monday, December 07, 2009 16:42

i think i should address this issue now. on fiona's incident which happened on saturday night.

it seems that despite the seniors nagging 165135418943216 times, it doesn't appear to go into your head. and it makes me sick that each time we tell you something, you tell us, "okayy" or nod your head, and you still repeat the same fucking mistakes.

it just makes me feel that you aren't serious about cheerleading at all. i don't fucking care if you visit the gym 288 times a week. if you can't even protect your flyer, what's the point of being strong. i rather you stop fucking going to the gym only and think. cheerleading is not only about gym.

sorry. apologies. i'll be more than happy if you said that from your heart and not because someone asked you to.

and to think that after the incident, you're not the least concerned about what happened. shrugging it off like nothing has happened. who the fuck do you think you are.

this is not a personal attack because i'm not referring to only ONE person in particular.

standchart 2009 ; Sunday, December 06, 2009 20:39

my first and last standchart performance with tpblazers. didn't perform last year as i wasn't feeling well.

overall, i was disappointed with my performance. missed the timings. couldn't achieve my 100% stunts-up achievement as the back and front spotter.

shall upload the pictures and performance video when i get them.

CONGRATULATIONS TO LEGACY ALL-STARS FOR BEING OVERALL CHAMPIONS!
CONGRATULATIONS TO TP BLAZERS FOR BEING THE FIRST RUNNER-UP AND
CONGRATULATIONS TO WELLINGTON PRIMARY FOR BEING THE SECOND RUNNER-UP!

-
camped in school last night and slept at the dance studio.

thanks to larry for coming down, helping us and staying over! (:

i slept for two hours. i think i'm poor and cheering the crowd. shall have to improve on that. i don't have either of the JUSTINS genes.

okayy. netsec paper tomorrow. off to study. since my msn is down and i can't login, i'm fated to study!

i'm curious.

spotting doesn't seem to be an important factor in our team. all we need to do is to put our hands there so if the seniors sees it, it's fine. if that's your mentally then please fuck off.

how many of you actually, don't mind being whacked, smacked, elbowed or whatever, to save a flyer from falling, and not complain at all?

don't compare with me. maybe you think that i just stand like a statue every training. ever curious to know what injuries i got from spotting? and i'm not even talking about getting injured from being a base.

what's the point of gym-ing so much?

anyway, i'm not intending anything in this post. it's just a random thought.
