gym.?! ; Monday, August 31, 2009 23:53

i still don't understand how 20 people can visit the gym together and make the session productive. unless you're the super enthusiastic type, i think you'll spend more time slacking.

hence, i prefer to gym with minimal company and enhance the effects of the workout!

my gridview is able to delete pictures. i don't really care that it shows an enlarged version and a 200x200 pixel version now. i just want to do the selection to make a default picture done and start doing my sip report.

training starts tomorrow. i just exhausted all my energy at the gym today. how nice.

-
i'm amazed as to how much my stomach can influence my mind to make me sleep. when the time comes, it tells me to either feed it, or go to bed. and unfortunately, it was successful.

i'm off to bed EARLIER tonight. actually i'm supposed to sleep before 12 every night. oops.

my final destination ; Sunday, August 30, 2009 21:54

i ALMOST died, literally.

errant drivers. driving at 40kph could kill. EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE IN SINGAPORE ONLY.

anyway, for the second consecutive day, i failed to drag myself out of bed at 0800 to run and gym. ended going in the evening and afternoon. couldn't help it. the weather was too nice to sleep.

teacher's day celebration tomorrow. SIP. CANNOT GO. ZZ.

everyone's either telling me they have half-day, or they have NO SCHOOL. and i'm beginning to suspect ONLY ENGINE COURSES HAVE 6 MONTHS MP/SIP IN THE LAB. thanks for the special privilege.

-
html codes are still better to do as compared to ASP AND VB.

+++

now or never ; Friday, August 28, 2009 22:30

gym-ed today. running 2.4km tomorrow morning and gym again on sunday and monday.

yay! because there's no training on monday. or rather, there is. but our dear captain decided to have gym session from 1500-1700, which i'll be exercising my fingers in the lab at that time. maybe i'll drop by WEARING JEANS AND JACKET.

my stupid picture album is NOT working, and i'm left with ONE WEEK to finish it because i DON'T WANT to come back after 11 september.

-
my surroundings and externalities have molded me into someone else.

i want to be who i am but it's not easy.

impossible spells i.am.possible. if it's hard, i'll challenge it. no matter what, i'll have to give it a try.

never try, never die.
never die, never know.

TGIF..soon ; Thursday, August 27, 2009 23:40

it's finally friday..in a few minutes. then it'll be two more weeks of sip! and i think there'll be no extension so let's pray hard.

i think helping people do their codes are more productive because time passes faster. it's either that, or i'm too unproductive staring at my codes the whole day.

i took around five hours to figure out two lines of code, which, my supervisor and i had been looking at the wrong code in the first place.

two more weeks. i'll finish my project by next friday and rush my report out before the end of the last week. though i think i might get a warning letter for rushing my work.

-
i've learnt today that delphina either resembles or cockroach, or is a cow.

and i have no idea why the simple 3-letter word, "try", can be spelt as "teerarwhy".

i think the mp/ sip is driving everyone in my lab nuts. literally.

stuck ; Tuesday, August 25, 2009 22:09

i've reached the last part of my mp project. unfortunately, i'm stuck and with no idea on how to continue, nor any inspiration on how to troubleshoot.

therefore, either i get my supervisor to sit beside me for the whole day and PERHAPS solve the problem, or i continue multitasking with fb and hope i get a solution.

the perhaps is in caps because..HAHAHA

i think at the rate i'm going, i can eat more than 7 meals a day. i can eat a big bowl of rice for breakfast and still feel hungry after an hour BEFORE LUNCH.

i just did something stupid. i went for my second round of dinner. scooped my rice, washed my spoon AND I PUT MY BOWL OF RICE UNDER THE TAP. which meant, i got porridge.

so you think english is easy? ; Monday, August 24, 2009 23:20

this post should have came earlier, but i keep forgetting and procrastinating.

i seriously think the appointment was a wrong idea. they say friends can't work together and you proved them right. i thought you could be impartial but it turned out otherwise.

anyway, i gym-ed again today! yesterday and today. two consecutive days. i shall declare tomorrow as a rest day.

somehow met shiyuan at tampines interchange when his paper ended at 1630 so i have no idea why is he still there. if it was me, i'd be at home sleeping. HAHAHA.

we were supposed to go subway for dinner but we were tempted because there was a vacant seat at carl's junior and it's the sofa that's empty! so we ended up eating there. and i think i overdosed on fries.

walked around tampines one for the first time, not to window-shop, but to digest the food. reminisced with shiyuan in the bus 72 about our ite days. times when a class is so much like a class.

EH. DO I HAVE A CLASS IN POLY? all i know is my lab group now.

-
i came across this stack of notes:

do you think english is easy? this is for those who think german is hard.

1. the bandage was wound around the wound.
2. the farm was used to produce produce.
3. the dump was so full that it had to refuse more refuse.
4. we must polish the polish furniture.
5. he could lead if he would get the lead out.
6. the soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
7. since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.
8. a bass was painted on the head of the bass drum.
9. when shot at, the dove dove into the bushes.
10. i did not object to the object.
11. the insurance was invalid for the invalid.
12. there was a row among the oarsmen about how to row.
13. there were too close to the door to close it.
14. the buck does funny things when the does are present.
15. a seamstress and a sewer fell down into a sewer line.
16. to help with the planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow.
17. the wind was too strong to wind the sail.
18. upon seeing the tear in the painting i shed a tear.
19. i had to subject the subject to a series of tests.
20. how can i intimate this to my most intimate friend?

let's face it - english is a crazy language.

there is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. english muffins weren't invented in england, nor frech fries in france. sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.

we take english for granted but if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from guinea nor is it a pig.

why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? if the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? one goose, two geese. so one moose, two meese? one index, two indices? doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? if you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

if teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? if a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? sometimes i think all the english speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. in what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? ship by truck and send cargo by ship? have noses that run and feet that smell?

how can a slim chance and a fat change be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are the opposites? you have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you can fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.

english was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. that is why, when the stars are out, they are visible but when the lights are out, they are invincible.

ps. - why doesn't "buick" rhyme with "quick"

you loves of the english language might enjoy this.

i'm going crazy ; Sunday, August 23, 2009 22:21

i've just spent 99.97% of my money in ffs and i'm left with 7 million. whoever wants my pets can buy them freely because i'll not have enough money to buy them back from you.

last 3 weeks of school. hopefully, there will be no extension. i'm so sick of being in that lab. i rather go rob the bank and go to jail. i think life would be better there.

the thought of school makes me go insane. my stress level is increasing at a rate too fast to be called alarming. sighh.

and it doesn't help that osip people are coming back next week.

free advertisement ; Saturday, August 22, 2009 23:55

the new extension to northpoint. shops changing their locations from the older building to the new part. it looks totally alien to me. and apparently i got lost.

did a 2.4km run today. didn't record the timing but my consolation is that i managed to run without stopping throughout the whole distance. did stretching after that. and the park users found that amusing.

gym tomorrow. i must drag myself out of bed at 8am like i failed to this morning. sighh.

-
i decide to promote tp's engine school.

reasons to join: 1
our lecturers give your more of something than any other school. you don't need a reason to give someone a gift, right? we exploit that.

introducing.. WARNING LETTERS!

in the recent week, i had friends getting them for the most ridiculous reasons.

they are never as efficient when you need help. but when it comes to issuing warning letters, you receive them before you even commit the offense.

HENCE, JOIN TP'S ENGINE SCHOOL!

+++

what's with warning letters now ; Thursday, August 20, 2009 23:54

first, mark got a warning letter for clocking out at 1730. now, terence got a warning letter for during his project. i think i'm going to get a warning letter tomorrow for going to the toilet.

apparently the school gym is filled with people today. either they're all year 3 students, or they're all from engine.

tried doing pullups. did two. i could do nine, two weeks ago.

anyway, gym-ed with terence at tampines today. ate carl's jr after that!

and i broke my rule today. i ate this vegetable dish fried with chilli at mensa 1 for lunch, and ate 10 chilli cheese fries from carl's for dinner. omg.

-
for those having main exam papers tomorrow, good luck! (:

+++

literally, bejeweled ; 00:19

i'm officially addicted and obsessed with fb's bejeweled because i play for two hours every night and i can only get a high score if the jewels keep clearing themselves.

hs: 165,300. yay!

this only proves one thing. 5 months in the engine lab doing a fake mp/sip enhances your addictiveness to fb games.

-
something tells me that i want to help them.

however, something tells me that they don't want to help themselves.

maybe i'm wrong. but no matter how much we slack, we still get some work done at the end of the day. i don't know about you.

done with pr2 ; Tuesday, August 18, 2009 21:51

i'll move my blog again when i reach 1000 posts. currently at 556. (:

i lost my inspirational blog to read. sighh.

through the rain and wind, laughter precedes as the sunshine comes out again

-
yay! done with pr2.

it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. still, i don't know if i need to come back after 11 september.

and it's bad to feel this way but, after presentation, it feels like the project's over. because the judges didn't really ask us to improve on anything. so i need to gather some mood to do my project tomorrow.

otherwise, i'll probably be playing fb's premier league and pro-league basketball for the whole morning.

+++

; Monday, August 17, 2009 21:56

i think if i continue staring at fb's bejeweled, my eyes would pop out.

anyway, the most dreaded pr2 is tomorrow. i think it'd be most natural to be myself throughout the presentation, rather than to anticipate.

hopefully, the judges would say well done and my sip would end on sept 11. HOPEFULLY.

gym-ed today. yay! although there were tonnes of inconsiderate SINGAPOREANS whom i don't wish to comment about.

national day rally 2009 ; Sunday, August 16, 2009 23:03

pm lee hsien loong gave his annual ndp rally at nus just now. i shall cover more of it when i read it again in the papers tomorrow. (:

-
i practically spent my weekend eating and sleeping. oh wells.

i think i shall mass gym EVERYDAY. well, i want to see how long that'll last.

pr2 presentation on tuesday. i can say i'm not prepared for it at all, but my notes are in school so i can't do anything at home.

study week starts tomorrow. four more sucky weeks of school. hopefully, a miracle would take place on tuesday and the judges would tell me that I DO NOT NEED TO COME BACK FOR ANY ADDITIONAL WEEKS.

rd ; Saturday, August 15, 2009 22:43

laugh! it's really the best medicine. (:

dogs look up to you; cats look down on you; pigs treat you as an equal.

and the problem with cats is that they give you the exact same look on their face whether they see a moth or an axe murderer.

-
anyway, the premiership starts today! which means there's soccer to watch again. yay!

mancity would be an interesting team to watch. i'm curious to see what can they do after spending all that money.

and i think i'll still pick liverpool to win the title.

; Friday, August 14, 2009 20:59

cheerleading.

it's nice to see flyers flying around in the air. however, people have become more ambitious. they land without people catching them.

and it's only recently. i don't know what's going on. everyone else seems unaffected by it. something that i can't comprehend.

for the i-don't-know-how-many-thousandth-time, cheerleading is a very dangerous sport. i guess some people are just not taking it seriously enough.

maybe someone has to literally land on the head and suffer a concussion before anyone really takes any action.

whatever i think, i guess i can only blog it out because who really listens to me anyway.

-
pr2 presentation to ONE supervisor was fine today, although i was practically nervous for almost the whole day.

on another note, i hate friday afternoons because it's eating into my weekend. thus, i have almost no mood to do anything.

singapore idol AUDITIONS ; Wednesday, August 12, 2009 21:46

the only thing i enjoy about watching singapore and american idol is the auditions. and with judges like ken and simon, they make you want to laugh even more!

i was watching the singapore idol auditions just now and this very funny incident happened.

there was this contestant who decided to sing the national day song, home. and i that even if you're very patriotic, you wouldn't sing the national day song.

anyway, before he sang, he told the judges that his singing would make girls cry.

after he sang, ken said he would make girls go to the toilet to cry.

AND DICK LEE SAID THAT HIS SINGING MAKES HIM WANT TO EMIGRATE.

i was like, literally laughing out loud for 10 minutes.

and for those who don't know, the song home was composed by dick lee.

-
training tomorrow. i think i rubbed enough counterpain. we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

my left arm is DEAD ; 01:12

i think my left arm has been maimed. it has minimal strength now so i guess i'll probably do everything with my right hand tomorrow.

i want to minimise the level of danger during stunts in training but i guess that's not possible. i think i'll have to doppelganger myself to ensure that.

i just ate instant noodles. so i don't suppose i'll be sleeping soon. and it's 9-6 again tomorrow. i've got to get that image album working tomorrow, or i don't know what to show for pr2.

+++

ion ; Monday, August 10, 2009 20:30

i wonder why did i wake up before noon today when the weather was so nice..well, till around two plus when the sun came out from behind the clouds.

anyway, gym-ed with gerald today. and despite the gym being quite empty, we still slacked.

accompanied him to ion orchard today. i feel alien in town. keep seeing new places like i'm new to singapore.

school starts tomorrow. back to jail. five more weeks. and gerald had to told me he finished his fyp on thursday. sighh.

i suddenly have the urge to listen to full house songs.

and i don't know how i survived going out with my phone only having 10% of its battery life.

happy national day singapore! (: ; 00:54

i still have not found a good place with minimal people to watch the national day fireworks. i think i should explore that area more often during the holidays.

anyway, met natasha at city hall mrt to watch the fireworks. shiyuan came later. and apparently, i learnt that there are 2 subways at marina square.

mark saw me and called.

GARY SAW ME AND DIDN'T. HAHAHA.

anyway, i don't have a perfect video of the fireworks. they're broken into 3 parts.

i have a new record. doing a shoulder sit for 20 minutes? and SAYING THE PLEDGE. patriotic. (:

; Sunday, August 09, 2009 00:30

i think i should consider giving up chilli and spicy food for the rest of my life because if i suddenly eat something with catsup now, it tastes weird.

seiously, getting a sony phone was a wrong idea. i guess i'll live with it for a few months and grab an iphone from my friend when there's stock available!

i'm staring blankly at the msn conversation between natasha and shiyuan because i've no idea what they're talking about.

blog-hopping again! (:

personality quiz ; Saturday, August 08, 2009 16:13

found this personality quiz while blog hopping and got the following results.

-
Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education
You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

views ; Friday, August 07, 2009 23:59

something tells me that i should just throw this blog into a permanent haitus, create another one and be a mysterious person altogether again.

anyway, i still think tp is crap because they don't want to give the sip students a halfday. don't they always say we should behave like we're working in the outside world? and now they don't treat us like one.

i'm integrating twitter, plurk and facebook together and now it looks like a complete mess.

i think i should figure out how to remove my laptop keys and WASH them this weekend. somehow regretting getting a white keyboard because other than its looks, it's easy to get dirty.

i was doing my research on the marina barrage and realised that it actually has a very good view..WITHOUT THE 3 IN-CONSTRUCTION IR BUILDINGS.

shall gym in the morning. hopefully, i can drag myself out of bed because i failed in my previous four attempts.

i'll TRY to get a new phone tomorrow because my current one is screwed. i have absolutely no idea how can your handphone have no network when you're in the bus that's under the singapore sky. and i receive my calls and texts an hour late whilst in the lab.

spelled S.A.F.E.T.Y ; 00:00

i decided against posting this in the team blog.

cheerleading is one, or possibly the most dangerous sport in the industry.

this year, other than going back to cheerleading as a senior, i also wanted to stress my number one priority in cheerleading.

SAFETY. i will not compromise safety like it was last year.

for most people, it's very easy to say sorry once a stunt falls.

to me, i had to muster a lot of courage to tell someone sorry when i failed to catch a stunt. and to this day, i still remember that moment. because i want to use it as a lesson, and learn from it so that it doesn't happen to me again.

anyway, i just feel that if safety has to be compromised again, then i wouldn't want to stunt. i rather prevent, then regret later.

-
on a random note, my wrists and back hurts. :(

so far ; Monday, August 03, 2009 23:32

i know that things are not going the way i want, but i think that i should still be happy.

i think that i have already did what i could, and anything more to me, would be deemed as irritating. hence, all i can do is wait and hope.

pr2 is next tuesday or friday, but it doesn't really bother me because we've already met the basic requirements and we're currently adding new functions. most importantly, we did most of the coding ourselves so there shouldn't be much problems.

my gym schedule sucks but i can do nuts about it. hopefully mp won't have to extend so i can mass gym everyday.

so many times i was alone and couldn't sleep
you left me drowning in the tears of memory
and ever since you've gone, i found it hard to breathe

cleaned the keyboard ; 19:00

i read your post and i felt the motivation to clean my keyboard. decided to test with my desktop in case i accidentally ripped the keys off.

i actually took more than an hour to remove, clean and piece everything back together! however, laptop keys don't seem to be as easy to remove.

i feel so accomplished after visiting the gym, and so guilty when i don't have the time to visit the gym during the weekdays.

going for some national dinner at serangoon north soon. and national day is next week!

anyone wants to go and watch the fireworks live next sunday? (:
