this was meant to be on saturday, which was a few hours ago.
dinner-ed with my parents. qiming waited 30mins for me though i stressed that he had to be at my block latest 2100. and i was late. (:
shiyuan had somehow organised a bbq somewhere beside block 212 for, himself? to celebrate his birthday. started at 1800 and i came three hours later. the thing is, i missed the fireworks again! wtf. i was supposed to watch yesterday, but i couldn't bring myself to forgo my soccer.
anyway, i brought qiming with me for the reason i didn't want to go alone. thought i would feel awkward but i managed to mingle quite well, to my own surprise. not as many people as he exaggerated - his family plus ruishan's family plus a few friends from all over? i found out that 3/4 of the people came from amkss and more than 1/2 of them were underage for the bottle of wine i found on the table.
we were supposed to mingle. somehow, found ourselves engaged in adult talk with sy's father and brother? i think. qiming was there speaking through his knowledge of religions, and i chose to pick the corner spot to observe their conversations without saying much. it prove to be a better option. i didn't eat much also, except for a chicken wing, a sausage and 3 pieces of jelly.
the talk lasted an amazing 90mins+-. it was 0010 when we ended? everyone cleared the place and went up to his house or left already. the bbq pit was quiet except of the 4 of us insisting on each's own pointers away. met sy as he came down and ended up bring the remaining pot of beehoon up. his father then fetched qiming and me home.
to summarise, the talk mainly on stating examples for us. i chose to take the stand of the law that examples must be supported by evidence, as some were very descriminating. i'm not saying here that i don't believe him, and it's true that he wouldn't come up with stories at 12 in the night. anyway, i take every meeting that we talked as a lesson learnt. some values that you've never thought of, as well as those that we've overlook.
for this, i use an example. the phrase, "forgive and forget". think it through. one can forgive even for a grave sin, but can it be forgotten? this, i think was the most meaningful lesson for the night.
